Speed: typically minutes instead of hours.
Quality: cleans threads, blind holes, and complex surfaces.
Gentleness: no mechanical damage to the surface.
Eco-friendliness: water-based solutions and biodegradable agents.
Low costs: energy is mainly used for heating the bath, making operation economical.
Ultrasonic transducers convert electrical energy into mechanical vibrations in liquid. This process creates cavitation bubbles that rapidly collapse, literally “lifting” contaminants from the surface. Combined with the right cleaning medium, this ensures perfect removal of impurities even from hard-to-reach areas.
Engineering, aerospace: degreasing, intermediate and final cleaning, removal of abrasives.
Electronics: cleaning of assembled PCBs and sensitive components.
Healthcare and dentistry: pre-sterilization cleaning of instruments and micro-instruments.
Automotive service: injectors, carburetors, bearings, transmission parts.
Optics, jewelry, watchmaking: glasses, optical elements, fine metals.
Food industry: bottles, molds, crates (optionally combined with disinfection).
Printing, glass, plastics industries: rollers, molds, final polishing of products.
Households and services: glasses, dental prostheses, tools, coins, CDs/DVDs, etc.
(Other fields: bicycle repair, locksmithing, plumbing, shooting ranges, distilleries.)
The cleaning result is determined by the right medium (type of contamination × material of the part). Water-based solutions with additives reduce surface tension, enhance cavitation, and shorten cleaning time by up to several tens of percent. Many processes are most effective at 50–60 °C.
Frequency: 20–28 kHz (intensive cleaning), 37–40 kHz (universal), 70–120 kHz (delicate applications – medical instruments, PCBs, plastics).
Generator power: increases with tank volume; may need to be higher for large/heavy parts.
Tank volume: parts must be fully submerged; part weight should not exceed ~½ the bath weight.
Degassing: use degassed water; the “Degas” mode or short idle run can help.
Compact washers – up to ~50 l, portable, for universal use.
Industrial washers – up to ~1000 l, robust, for versatile industrial use.
Industrial lines, semi-automatic, automatic – higher volumes, single-purpose or multi-step solutions (rinsing, drying, automation).
For workloads over 4 hours/day or for long service life: welded tanks, stainless steel 1.8–2.2 mm.
For occasional use, all-stainless compact units (up to 4 hours/day) are sufficient.
The ultrasonic generator powers piezo transducers (emitters), which set the liquid into vibration. Cavitation bubbles are formed; their collapse generates local pressures and microturbulence that break the bonds between contaminants and the surface. The medium then washes the impurities away. Thanks to this effect, ultrasound penetrates even into gaps, threads, and blind holes.
Applications:
Industry: engineering parts, molds (plastic/rubber), electroplating (pre-coating), printing rollers.
Service centers: injectors, carburetors, chains, bearings, fine mechanics.
Healthcare & dental: instruments before sterilization, prostheses, braces.
Optics & jewelry: eyeglass frames, lenses, gold/silver, watch parts.
Food industry: bottles, molds, crates – with optional disinfection.
Households & services: glasses, tools, coins, CDs/DVDs, small plastic/metal parts.
Special uses: distilleries (degassing of spirits), diving valves.
